Questions We Hear Often

Can't find what you're after? Send us a message above and we'll answer directly.

We respond to every message within one business day, and usually much sooner during office hours.

Call our manager on 0246372025 or 0241215221, or speak to one of our registered agents or aggregators in your community. Your nuts are weighed openly and paid for at the TCDA minimum price or better.

It depends on the grade and timing. Share your volumes in the form above and we will come back with what is realistic.

Yes. You are welcome at our head office at Kyekyewere, Seikwa, or our branches at Namasua and Adom. Call ahead so the manager can meet you.

The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) sets a Minimum Producer Price every season under Act 1010 and L.I. 2471, after a stakeholder meeting in Techiman. It is worked out from the international FOB price, the quality standard, the exchange rate and supply chain costs. For 2025/26 the minimum was GH₵12.00 per kg.

No. No buyer can buy below the TCDA minimum. We can pay more for nuts with a higher outturn (KOR) and lower moisture.

The outturn (KOR) should be 46 upwards, with about 180–190 nuts per kg and a maximum of 10% moisture. We check the sample for spotted, immature, rotten and oily nuts and empty shells. If the cashew does not meet the quality requirement, the price falls.

Yes. Our aggregators accept or buy small or large quantities of cashew from farmers.

During the main season, 50 pesewas per kilo (or GH₵50 per bag) is deducted at weighing and recorded in your passbook. The money is saved for you in your community's Group Account.

From the first week of July to the end of August. Our CEO also works with banks to open individual savings accounts for farmers.

Representatives selected from each farming community open the Group Account. The CEO is the principal signatory and secretary to all Group Accounts.

Yes. We help cashew farmers get flexible soft loans from trusted banks such as Suma Rural Bank for farm maintenance and seasonal expenses. Speak to your agent or our office.

We are traders. We buy raw cashew from farmers and aggregators and supply it to exporters, using our own trucks for large quantities.

Our head office is at Kyekyewere, Seikwa in the Tain District. Our branch offices are at Namasua (Berekum East) and Adom (Berekum West).

Unity Impex Co-operative Cashew Farming and Marketing Society Limited (Reg. No: BER/P/AC/520) is run by an elected Board of Directors. Inputs from NGOs, government and donors are shared fairly, and members' dues go into a welfare fund for hardship, crop failure, emergencies, funerals and weddings.
