Sep 28, 2026 · The outturn of your raw cashew should be 46 upwards. Spotted, immature, rotten and oily nuts pull the price down.

When you bring your cashew to us, a sample is analysed to find its outturn — how much good kernel the nuts will give. The outturn or quality of raw cashew nuts should be 46 upwards, and it is classified by the size of the nuts and the nut count.
When checking the nuts we look for:
• Spotted nuts
• Immature nuts
• Rotten nuts
• Oily nuts
• Empty shells
If your cashew does not meet our quality requirement, the price will fall and you will not get the standard price. Remove spoiled nuts before you sell, pick regularly from every tree, and dry the nuts to 10% moisture or less.
