Quality Analysis & Classification

Every lot is analysed at our receiving point — outturn (KOR), nut count and moisture — so you are paid for the quality you bring.

Quality Analysis & Classification

At our receiving point every lot is sampled and analysed before it is classified.

Outturn (KOR): the outturn of raw cashew nuts should be 46 upwards. The Kernel Outturn Ratio tells how much good kernel a bag is likely to give.

Nut count: we look at the size of the nuts (about 180–190 nuts per kg is the standard) and check the sample for spotted, immature, rotten and oily nuts and empty shells.

Moisture: nuts should have a maximum of 10% moisture.

Nuts that meet the standard earn the standard price or better. Nuts that fall short get a lower price.
